There is plenty of parking available at the University and it is free throughout the weekend. When you arrive at the Campus follow the Makers Cornwall signs to the best and closest car parks.
The Sports hall is fully accessible from disabled parking spaces in car park D and E (clearly signposted) and wheelchair access is along level pavement to the main doors.
There are no restrictions within the hall at all.
The event is busy and attracts large crowds. There are quieter times e.g. Sunday morning, and if you are not keen on crowds we suggest you come then. It can be noisy and we recommend Neurodiverse visitors to wear noise cancelling headphones.
Unfortunately there is no capacity to have a quiet hour of shopping for those with additional needs and we cannot guarantee quiet periods.
Friday evening – 6pm to 9pm – last entry 8.30pm
Saturday – 10am to 4pm – last entry 3.30pm
Sunday – 10am to 3pm – last entry 2.30pm
For security reasons we can not allow members of the public into the hall except during official opening times.
Doors will close half an hour from the advertised closing time – the event takes at least half an hour to get around and we need time to clear the hall.
ENTRY TO THE EVENT IS COMPLETELY FREE.
At busy times we may have to manage our visitor numbers to ensure safety and comfort in line with the venue requirements. This might mean that we have to restrict entry for a short while until visitor numbers in the hall drop.
If you have any questions during your visit please go to the Makers welcome desk which is located just inside the entrance to the hall on the right.
No animals of any kind are allowed in the Sports Hall except Service Dogs with accreditation – this is University policy and not our decision.
We have 2 street food vendors offering a choice of hot meals including vegetarian options. The indoor cafe offers hot and cold drinks, snacks and cakes including vegan cake options.
Most stallholders and food vendors will take card or cash. There is a cash point on Campus close to the University reception building. However our charity Tombola is cash only so please bring a few pounds with you if you would like to take part.
There is no cloakroom at the event but there are a few small lockers in the corridor to the toilets if required. They require a £1 coin to use.
We have a fully qualified first aid professional available during fair opening hours.
If you require their assistance please contact a member of the team or go to the welcome desk at the hall entrance.
Please note – there is no facility or space for leaving bags, coats and belongings at the Fair. Anything that is left unattended will be removed in line with the University’s security policy.
The site is covered by CCTV and theft will be prosecuted.
There are no restrictions on visitors bringing prams or pushchairs, however the venue gets very busy and we would recommend carrying small children in a body harness if possible.
Prams can be a blockage to other visitors and children can be overwhelmed by the crowds at pushchair level. There is nowhere to store prams and pushchairs at the venue, they must be kept with you at all times.
We won’t bombard you and we’ll keep it relevant.
