Cornish Tiddlers

A long-standing recycler, Ruth now repurposes materials into works of art, unrecognisable from their original form. Plastic bags, sweet wrappers, soft plastic waste materials all feature in her work. Her iron and sewing machine blend materials together to make multi-layered pieces, embellishing her plastic poly-fusion layers by then stitching into them. Stitching and printing are her key techniques and reflect her signature style. These materials are a visual acknowledgement to the microplastics within the seas.
